Invited by the Trade Promotion Association of Ravenna Area, Italy, the Chinese Yachting delegation including Sunrise Marineware Limited, China Association of the National Shipbuilding industry (CANSI), Xiamen Association of Yachting Industry and China Boating has made a one-week study trip to Italy.
The purpose of the visit was to enhance the communication of the two countries in the yachting industry, the agenda contains visiting the major yacht factories and equipment manufacturers in Ravenna area. Led by Trade Promotion Association of Ravenna, the The Chinese delegation gained a chance to explore the whole process of yacht design, production, sales and after sales section of the marine industry in Ravenna. The representatives from the two countries have also discussed marine industry development issues at the forums.
Italy is a country embraced a long history of sailing culture. It has completed sailing facilities. The members of the delegation has benefited a lot through the study trip.
During the visit, the delegation has visited University of Bologna, Tecnopolo Nautico Yachting Research Institute, some equipment manufacturers and yacht factories and Marina di Ravenna. University of Bologna has set up a school of Yacht Design which has cultivated many excellent yacht designers worldwide since its establishment. Tecnopolo Nautico Yachting Research Institute is committed to the research and development of hi-tech and environmental friendly materials. They have already applied bamboo fiber to archaized sailboats for the very first time in the world. Marina di Ravenna is a very impressive marina. It is the largest marina in Ravenna area, which has altogether 2,500 berths. It has its own yachting club and service center. The proportion of power boats to sailboats is 3:7, which largely differs from the marinas in China where power boats outnumbers sailboats.
After the study trip to Italy, the delegation has profoundly realized the gap between China and the world, which means our people involved in the industry need to work harder to catch up with the world. Meanwhile, they have also visioned the great potential in the marine industry in China. Chinese marine industry is still very young and full of challenges and opportunities.
