The 9th China Club Cup Challenge Match has attracted 31 teams from all over China including Qingdao, Beijing, Shanghai, Liuzhou, Xiamen, Yunnan, Shenzhen, Sanya, Hong Kong and Taiwan altogether about 220 top sailors in China competed to one another during China's National Holidays. The race lasted for 3 days. using J/80 international class boats.
The opening ceremony was held at the Wuyuan Bay harbor. Though there was a chill in the air, the passionate sailors lit up the night with their excitement. At the ceremony, representative from Team Liuzhou Sailing Associateion (the defender) returned the "Big Shell Cup" to the race. Skipper Wei Jun accepted the trophy on behalf of the organizing committee. The China Club Cup Trophy keeps passing to the champion year after year. The names of the winners are curved on the trophy as an honor.

From Oct 4th-6th, the weather was good. The wind kept changing which led to the uncertainty of the race and increased the intensity of the competition.
