Zhik are delighted to announce they are supporting the Chinese national Extreme 40 entry ‘Team Extreme Qingdao’ in Act 3 of the Extreme Sailing Series in Qingdao.

‘Team Extreme Qingdao’ will be wearing a variety of Zhik performance tops supplied for the range of anticipated conditions in Quingdao. Designed for athletic crewing where the crews are highly active, Zhik’s Orspan top is made from a superbly flexible, four-way stretch, waterproof, breathable fabric, making it ideal for the Extreme 40 crews. The Orspan’s thin inner membrane is windproof too, enabling body temperature regulation whilst keeping off the wind chill, and its plush, thin next-to-skin fleece maintains body warmth and comfort too. For milder conditions the Team will be using Zhik’s slim fitting Hydrophobic fleece tops, a plush Spandex fleece top with excellent water repellent properties.

These will be combined with Zhik’s newly updated Microfleece? wetsuits, made from a super stretch and versatile 1 mm neoprene. Designed for warmer conditions, and doing far more than the job of a traditional 3 mm wetsuit, Microfleece provides unrivalled flexibility and has a fast drying lining - essential to help the sailors maintain their athleticism through each day of fast and furious racing.

‘Team Extreme Qingdao’ will be co-skippered by Chinese sailor Cheng Ying Kit and Danish Olympic Champion Jonas Warrer, together with Liu Ming (Leo) and Kong Chencheng (Kong) on bow duties, and Artemis Offshore Academy graduate Aaron Cooper (GBR) will be trimming the mainsail.
