Our Story
Sunrise Marineware was founded by Alan Lan in 2009 following his departure from Lewmar during the global financial crisis. Leveraging his extensive experience and international industry network, Alan established SMW with a clear vision: to introduce the world's leading marine brands to Greater China.
Every brand represented by SMW is carefully selected based on a core philosophy — a commitment to continuous innovation and excellence. This approach has enabled SMW to become a trusted partner for yacht builders and sailors across the region.
A passionate sailor and competitor in the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, Alan combines a lifelong love of sailing with deep industry expertise. Over the past two decades, SMW has worked closely with China's leading yacht builders, supplying premium deck hardware and marine systems for countless projects, including the first-ever 110-foot luxury sailing catamaran built in Dalian, China, in 2017.
In 2011, SMW expanded into premium sailing apparel, establishing itself as a one-stop supplier for sailors and sailing clubs throughout Greater China. Today, SMW is recognized as one of the region's leading distributors of high-performance sailing equipment and apparel.

Supporting Chinese sailing
Since its establishment, SMW has been committed to promote the development of sailing in China. We maintain long-term partnerships with numerous top-level sailing events and youth sailing competitions in China, providing professional sailing equipment, accessories, and on-site technical support. Over the years, SMW has served renowned domestic events such as the China Cup International Regatta, the China Club Cup Challenge, the Round Hainan Island International Sailing Regatta, and the Meisha Education National Youth Sailing League, providing support to participating teams with professional products, extensive event support experience, and an efficient service team. In the future, SMW will continue to work hand in hand with the Chinese sailing community, along with event organizers, clubs, and sailing enthusiasts, to promote the popularization and development of sailing in China, contributing to the cause of sailing in China.
Professional strength derived from the race course
In addition to providing professional equipment support for major sailing events in China, SMW is also a professional sailing team active on the racecourse in Great China. The experience gained from the race course enable us understand the actual needs of these teams for equipment, accessories, and technical support, and incorporates this experience into deck plan fit out, retro fitting and system upgrades. providing customers with more professional options to meet their specification or budget.
in 2013 and 2017 SMW bought a TEN and a SOTO40, became a strong contender in the race course, achieved outstanding race results, including the 2018 IRC Grand Champion of the Round Hainan Island International Regatta, the 2019 IRC Grand Runner-up of the Round Hainan Island International Regatta, the 2019 IRC A2 Runner-up of the China Cup International Regatta, 1st runner up in J80 Asian Champ, and semifinalist in the 2017 China Club Cup match race. The practical experience gained on the racecourse has not only demonstrated the team's professional strength but also enabled SMW to consistently serve sailors from a sailor's perspective, growing together with sailing enthusiasts and jointly promoting the continuous development of sailing in China.
